Celebrations for the third Italian Sports Day in the World continue in Miami. On Friday, October 30, at 6:30 p.m., the Consulate General of Italy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Miami will host “Sailing and Inclusion,” an evening dedicated to Italian sporting excellence, maritime culture, and the values of inclusion.
The event will feature Antonio Squizzato, an Italian Paralympic sailor, 2025 Para Sailing World Champion, and 2026 Ambassador of Sports Diplomacy. He will share his sporting journey with the audience, recounting a path shaped by determination, passion, and a commitment to making sport increasingly accessible and inclusive.
The event is part of the international roadshow promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the lead-up to the 2027 America’s Cup in Naples, the world’s most prestigious international sailing competition, which will take place in Italy for the first time. The promotional tour aims to showcase Italy’s excellence in sailing and maritime industries and promote the Italian System worldwide through Italy’s diplomatic and consular network and Italian Cultural Institutes.
Sailing serves as the common thread in a broader narrative of Italy, in which maritime culture, sport, the marine industry, shipbuilding, craftsmanship, design, and sustainability come together to express the country’s creativity and competitiveness. During the evening, new audiovisual content will also be presented, highlighting Italy’s deep connection with the sea and the country’s excellence in boating, design, and technological innovation.
Through Antonio Squizzato’s personal testimony, the initiative also seeks to highlight the role of sport as a tool for inclusion, dialogue, and diplomacy – one capable of bringing people and communities together beyond all barriers – while celebrating the enduring bond between Italy, the sea, and a sailing tradition that looks to the future.
