On Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 6:30 PM, the Italian Cultural Institute of Miami will host Italian actor Mario Merone in No Strings Attached — Not Yet, an original, interactive theatrical monologue inspired by Carlo Collodi’s beloved classic, Pinocchio.
The event celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of the renowned Tuscan author, one of the most influential figures in Italian literature, whose most famous work continues to captivate generations of readers around the world nearly a century and a half after its publication.
Through a contemporary, witty, and engaging reinterpretation of one of Italian literature’s most beloved characters, No Strings Attached — Not Yet invites audiences to reflect on universal themes such as identity, authenticity, deception, and the desire to become fully human.
In an era increasingly shaped by the presence of artificial intelligence, the story of a wooden puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy takes on new and unexpected meanings.
Blending theater, humor, and direct audience interaction, Mario Merone transforms Collodi’s timeless tale into a lively, participatory theatrical experience that speaks to contemporary audiences through questions of striking relevance today.
An Italian actor, playwright, and director based in New York, Mario Merone has developed an artistic approach that brings together classical literature, interactive performance, and direct engagement with audiences.
Designed for an international audience, the performance will be presented in English, offering Miami audiences the opportunity to rediscover a great classic of Italian literature through an original, contemporary, and deeply human perspective.
Admission is free; reservations are required.
