From November 5 to 13, San Juan (PR) is ready to host the sixteenth edition of the European Film Festival, taking place at the Fine Arts Miramar.
This year, the Festival—organized by the Alliance Française de Puerto Rico—features a selection of 30 films from 18 countries, with the aim of offering to local audiences a glimpse into the cultural and linguistic richness, artistic innovation, and contemporary stories of the Old Continent.
Alongside the screenings, there will be meetings with directors and actors, as well as talks and debates, making the Festival an excellent opportunity for exchange between film professionals, audiences, and enthusiasts, as well as a moment of cultural sharing and international artistic collaboration.

The Italian Cultural Institute of Miami confirms its collaboration with the event, supporting the screening of three Italian films:

  • Diamanti (2024), directed by Ferzan Ozpetek. Two sisters, Luisa and Gabriella, run a luxurious fashion house in 1970s Rome, and they have some Oscar-winning costume designers among their clients. A box office hit that unfolds amid colors, stitches, and fabrics, within a community of women where various dramas intertwine.

Screenings: Saturday, November 8th at 3:15 p.m. – Wednesday, November 12th at 6:30 p.m.

  • Vermiglio (2024), directed by Maura Delpero. In Vermiglio, a mountain village where World War II feels both distant and ever-present, the arrival of a soldier Pietro disrupts the life of the local schoolteacher’s large family, changing it forever. The love between Pietro and Lucia, the eldest daughter, leads them toward an unexpected destiny.

Screening: Sunday, November 9th at 1:30 p.m.

  • There’s Still Tomorrow (C’è ancora domani, 2023), directed by Paola Cortellesi. Delia, a woman living in postwar Rome, faces a violent husband and a life of sacrifice. As she prepares her daughter Marcella’s wedding, she receives a mysterious letter that seems to offer her a chance at freedom. In the background, Italy is changing: women are about to vote for the first time—and Delia finds the courage to choose her own future.

Screenings: Saturday, November 8th at 6:30 p.m. – Monday, November 10th at 9:15 p.m.
