The Italian Cultural Institute in Miami invites you to the event Le vie romane della moda (A fashion tour in Rome), a conversation with journalist Stefania Giacomini, who is going to take us on an intriguing journey through the most iconic places in Rome, which have always served as a scenic backdrop for haute couture fashion shows and for the greatest designers’ ateliers.
Roman historical sites, such as squares, streets and monuments have not only marked the history of Italian fashion but continue to be a stage, where the creations of the most prestigious fashion houses are celebrated. During the meeting, Ms. Giacomini offers a reflection on how habits, culture and society have influenced the evolution of the main trends, becoming an essential element in shaping the collections of internationally renowned brands – but also on how, conversely, innovations by the most influential fashion designers have marked certain historical moments. In this way, we unveil the deep connection between the Italian capital city and the world of haute couture.
