The spotlight turns to the “Italo Soundtracks Edition” on Saturday, October 18, at the Miami Beach Bandshell (7275 Collins Avenue), for the 2025 edition of Hit Week, the international festival that since 2009 has promoted Italian pop, rock, and singer-songwriter music around the world. This year’s edition places special emphasis on the dialogue between music and cinema, reinforcing the festival’s role as a platform for showcasing the many expressions of Italian creativity.

Headlining the evening are Calibro 35, a cult Italian band internationally acclaimed for their unmistakable style blending funk, rock, and classic Italian crime movie soundtracks. Dubbed by critics as “the Italian answer to American crime funk”, Calibro 35 have collaborated with global stars — including Dr. Dre and Jay-Z, who sampled their tracks — and bring to international stages a repertoire that reinterprets in a contemporary key the great masters of film music such as Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, and Piero Umiliani. In Miami, they will present a unique event: a live soundtrack performance accompanying a selection of Italian films from the 1960s and 1970s.

The Bandshell, a landmark amphitheater and cultural hub of Miami Beach just steps away from the ocean, will provide the perfect setting for this immersive performance, with its strong international spirit and atmosphere.

The event is promoted by the Federation of the Italian Music Industry (FIMI) and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) through its Los Angeles office, specialized in the recording and film industries, and is held under the patronage of the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy in Miami.

The evening follows the October 17 opening events at the Italian Cultural Institute in Coral Gables, which included an industry-focused roundtable discussion and live performances by singer-songwriter Joan Thiele and DJ, music critic, and radio host Luca De Gennaro.
