The exhibition “From A to B. Artistic Handicraft Meets Alighiero Boetti”, produced in collaboration with the Maestri Artifex association, brings together thirteen Italian master craftsmen, working in a creative dialogue with the work of Alighiero Boetti, exploring the boundaries between contemporary art and craftsmanship. The exhibition opens on the occasion of the Giornata del Contemporaneo (Contemporary Art Day), organized by AMACI (Association of Italian Contemporary Art Museums), with the aim of promoting contemporary art through special events in Italy and around the world.
Everyday objects, often crafted using traditional techniques, find a new artistic dimension in this project, revealing themselves to be the result of creative processes capable of communicating ideas and emotions. The exhibition thus invites reflection on the mutual enrichment between art and crafts, highlighting how these forms of expression intertwine and contribute to a deeper understanding of the concept of art.
Craftsmanship excellence is powerfully manifested through the works created by the members of the Maestri Artifex association who, thanks to knowledge passed down through time, have been able to innovate with techniques and materials. Master craftsmen on display include Carlo Apollo, Bianco Bianchi, Caporali, Vanessa Cavallaro, Sileno Cheloni, Fonderia Artistica Leonardo Del Giudice, Fabscarte, Fondazione Arte della Seta Lisio, Pino Grasso Ricami, HF, L’Ippogrifo Stampe d’Arte, Saskia, Leonardo Scarpelli.
