The Italian Cultural Institute in Miami, in collaboration with 1000 Miglia, presents the exhibition 1000 Miglia, through Italian landscapes and historic towns, a photographic journey retracing the routes of the legendary car race that winds through enchanting locations in Italy. The exhibition precedes by just a few days the debut of the 1000 Miglia Florida USA Experience 2025, which from February 22nd to 25th will bring the spirit of the legendary car race to South Florida, captivating a new generation of enthusiasts from all over the world, and consolidating its status as an international event that celebrates motorsport, passion, and excellence in all its forms. From Miami, chosen as the starting point for the first Florida edition of the event, the Red Arrow, symbol of a timeless race, is preparing to write a new chapter in this extraordinary saga.
Between 1927, the year of the first edition, and 1957, 24 editions of the 1000 Miglia were held, becoming a symbol of courage and innovation, despite the challenges of the war. Bold drivers tested their limits, solidifying the legend of what would later be called “the most beautiful race in the world.” In 1977, the 1000 Miglia was revived on a biennial basis until 1986. In 1987, the competition became a regularity race, reserved to cars built between 1927 and 1957, while maintaining the traditional Brescia-Rome-Brescia route. This new edition combined the past and the present, continuing to celebrate the historical and Italian character of the route.
Today, the 1000 Miglia, now a regularity race, is a unique event in the world. Each year, more than 400 cars are admitted, but the number of applications is about twice the number of available spots, confirming the global fascination the race holds. The crews, coming from every corner of the world, present historically significant cars of extraordinary value, selected with care to participate in a race that, for many reasons, is a dream for enthusiasts and collectors. The competition, which winds through iconic places and hidden villages, offers a unique opportunity to experience unforgettable moments, immersed in the beauty and culture of Italian style, design, and art.
The exhibition will remain open until April 10th. N.B. Prolonged until May 9th!
