Teo Bok’s Project “Come Musica – The Power of Music in Education” goes on tour across the USA from Miami.

TEO BOK COVER

Bringing together the study of the Italian language with the universal power of music: this is the idea behind Come Musica – The Power of Music in Education, a project promoted and supported by the Italian Cultural Institute of Miami and now expanding to various areas of the United States.

At the center of the initiative is Teo Bok, a young singer-songwriter from Milan, who will meet students and teachers on a journey that weaves together words, sounds, and emotions. In schools, institutes, and universities across Florida and other major U.S. cities, Teo will guide students in discovering Italian through the lyrics of great songwriters as well as his own original compositions, turning the classroom into a dynamic and engaging multilingual experience (in Italian, English, and Spanish).

The project was inaugurated on August 26 with a public presentation at the Italian Cultural Institute in Coral Gables. The evening offered attendees the chance to learn more about the initiative, enjoy an acoustic preview of Teo Bok’s performances, and reflect on the strong bond between music and language learning.

Bok’s career reveals an internationally minded artist: raised in an Italian-German family, he has performed in highly acclaimed musicals such as The Lion King, Billy Elliot, and Peter Pan. He took part in TV shows like “The Voice Kids Germany” and “Sanremo Young”, later performing across Europe and Latin America before moving to Miami, where he continues to develop his artistic path.

Thanks to his musical sensitivity and his ability to connect with younger audiences, Bok demonstrates how music can become a powerful tool to bring new generations closer to the Italian language and culture.

The first stop of the tour took place on September 22 at Mast Academy in Miami, where Teo presented several songs, including the unreleased Cuoio Nero. Students had the exclusive opportunity to hear it live for the very first time; the track has been chosen as the official soundtrack of all upcoming events. To strengthen the connection with the project, students also received a QR code that will allow them to be among the first to listen to the song as soon as it is released on streaming platforms.

After a second event on September 26 at Miami Senior High, Come Musica – The Power of Music in Education will move beyond Miami to become a full-fledged tour across several U.S. cities, with the support of the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes. In Florida alone, six schools will take part in the initiative. Teo Bok will return to Miami in mid-October (October 13 at International Studies Charter School, October 15 at Palmetto High School, and October 16 at West Boca High School) before concluding with a special closing event on November 20 at Florida International University.
